What does ChatGPT Know about Me - Christian Callaghan

In recent months the chat bot developed by Open AI has been given the ability to recall information about the user such as personality and how the user tends to communicate. With this I decided to prompt a question: where is the information you know about me being stored?

Its response: "All the info I know about you is stored in a way that's designed to make our chats smoother and more helpful. It's kept in a memory space that’s specific to you, so I can remember things like what languages you’re learning, things you’ve told me about yourself, and any preferences you've shared. But don't worry, it's all private and only used to make our chats better. I can also forget anything if you ever want me to!". This response confused me as anything that is recorded must be stored somewhere so that it can be recalled at a later time. Which is why I gave it another question: who has access to the databank with my information? "Only I have access to the info we’ve shared in our conversations, and it's used solely to make our chats more personalized. No one else can see it, and it’s kept private and secure. If you ever want to update or erase anything, just let me know, and I can make it happen! Your data stays with you". The chat bot bouncing around the answer was a bit debilitating to say the least.

In the expanse of the future AI technology will only become more and more prevalent and therefore information like this will be further used. This is why there needs to be further regulations on AI so that expulsion of information is not a risk of happening especially people's personal information.
