Spiritual Connections with Nature in Iceland - Alizarin Capeland

I always knew leaving high school and going into college was going to happen, but now that I was in the thick of it, I was terrified. Luckily, I had an amazing trip to help ease my worries and allow me to relax before entering college. I went on a two-week cruise with my family that took us from New York, around Canada, to Greenland, and finally, around Iceland. While the trip itself was packed full of adventures and amazing moments, it allowed me to slow down and really take in the reality of the world around me. It was so easy to get lost in the "go go go" attitude of the world, especially when considering the workforce and education.

One of my favorite parts was the waterfalls. We visited several and while I may not remember the details of each one, I do remember the peace and tranquility they brought. There was nothing like sitting on the edges, watching as the water rushed by, listening to the sounds of nature just go on like I was not there. Sometimes there were other tourists, sometimes fishermen, other times no one else at all. No matter what accompanied me to those falls, I still connected with each one. I have always loved water in every form so to see these unique views and their unmistakable profoundness was something special.
