Ryan Roberts - I ******* Love Music

    I know this post may be ridiculously off topic, but I just finished my exploratory paper, and it's been driving me insane with how good the music is in Alien Stage. Once again, if you want to watch alien stage... don't. But, I need to rant because it's so good.

    Let's start with what I wrote my paper on, that being the character Ivan and his 3 songs. In my paper, I interpreted Ivan as autistic. And something that autistic people tend to do is something called masking. It refers to when a neurodivergent person pretends to be neurotypical to avoid judgement and discrimination. Now why is this important? Well, I was listening to the instrumentals of his three songs and something stuck out to me. Every single instrument is digital. It's not real. Despite every single other song having live recordings of instruments, his songs are the only ones to be synthesized. I literally jumped for joy when I found that out. The Ivan the audience sees isn't the real one, so why would the one we hear be real too?

    His songs also tell a story. When he adds emotion into his singing the instrumental becomes louder and more chaotic, showing how he wants the real him to be heard, but that desire for appearing "normal" is too great. Or, the song he sings before he dies (spoilers, sorry) has a heartbeat drum pattern in the background which goes silent after he dies. It's even silent in the unsung final chorus of the song which can only be heard with the studio recordings. 

    But in general, I loved connecting each character to a signature sound or instrument. Hyuna is a powerful and smart person, so her songs have difficult rifts and powerful vocals. Luka is a manipulator, so he is accompanied by quick flitterings of piano. Till is more rebellious and chaotic, so naturally, his songs all have electric guitar. Mizi likes dancing, so every song she performs has long instrumentals or softer singing so singing is easier. Sua only sings one song by herself, but the song is more airy, showing her softer nature. 

    Anyway, music is cool and I love how it tells a story, both through the lyrics and the composition. It's cool ad I like :). Have a wonderful day! ♥

  In class, we talked about Jesus and Christianity as an example of myth. Myths and martyrs are dangerous to systems of control because even if they’re suppressed, they can survive and grow stronger. Joanah Eresechima - Blue Lock's Exploration of Flow

In the sixth chapter of American Camino , the concept of flow is extensively explained in the context of spiritual walking. It is described as unification of action and awareness to create a state in which thoughts are non-existent. The hiker just moves through the world, extremely aware and focused on the wilderness around them but unable to thoroughly reflect on it in that moment. It is only afterwards that the hiker is able to recall the memories from their flow state. Flow can occur in different types of people like artists, scientists and athletes (Redick 249).
